Does anybody else suffer from twitching, bottom of legs and feet to be precise at the moment, plus hands and fingers, though not as much?
I can't think of anything that triggers it...but it is very irritating, and definitely a new symptom over the last couple of years....seemingly, steadily getting worse..

Hi Magic Marker, Twitching (sometimes known as restless leg syndrome or RLS) can be caused in by B12, magnesium and calcium deficiencies in particular.
I suffered from twitching and tingling and use supplements to top up my levels. You may want to look at trying transdermal and sublingual versions which are absorbed more easily than tablet versions. Betteryou do a good spray magnesium which can be applied directly to the legs and I feel the benefit in about 20 minutes. Magnesium is also needed for the body to absorb calcium properly.
A better absorbed form of B12 is Methylcolabamin (as opposed to the more common Cyanocobalamin found in most supplements). Jarrow and Dr's Best do good versions of Methylcobabamin which can be dissolved under the tongue. They are a bit more pricey than your average supplement, but I think they are well worth it.
Hi magic marker 28, I used to get restless legs and twitching as I suffer from ME (also known as chronic fatigue syndrome). However I have been seeing a private specialist and getting treatment which include B12 and magnesium, since then, I don't tend to twitch or get restless legs anymore. Like Rustic Rita says, it could be that you lack either of these in your diet.
I have often had symptoms of being low in iron too (and been diagnosed anaemic a number of times). I took iron tablets but still felt the symptoms of low iron. When I saw the specialist she explained that there are other vitamins and minerals that can help your body to absorb iron (as well as other things).
You can get a transdermal spray with iron in from holland and Barrett, you can also get magnesium salts too where you put a cup or two in a bath (or a cup in a bowl to soak your feet) and the magnesium is absorbed through your skin.

Just an idea I tried with my partner was for him to only have decaf tea of coffee after 4pm. It definitely helped both because I now sleep without him twitching!
well i do like coffee, and drink quite a lot of it, during the day at work, probably because it's there. I will try and abstain, somehow, and see if that works too. Suppose the problem with coeliac disease, is there are so many variables and seemingly each individual is different. It's hard to pin down the right answers when a lot of people report a lot of different symptoms....thank you.
Hi Magicmarker28, I suffer from this complaint frequently, especially when I exercise. I walk around 8-10kms every other day and on these days it's worse. I don't have a colon so struggle to get enough nutrition. I do have an iron infusion annually, this helps, but I find taking simple magnesium tables puts it at rest fairly quickly. I just get mine from my local supermarket..
have you checked your b12 , you might be getting nerve damage from lack of it...you can get shots or take it via mouth. check out the other post I have on b12 and celiac, it was an answer to "Chancery". it might help with absorption and rebuilding your very important gutflora.
