I don’t think Glaucoma UK can review from a DVLA perspective. At best I imagine they might help you gain a better understanding of your results. I guess that could possibly lead to you appealing but only if the results were wrong, or the test conditions hadn’t been fully met.
I’m sure the DVLA website will advise you how to appeal but you’d have to know for sure that there had been a clear error somewhere. I know you’d have to pay, but it might be worth paying for a private test at Specsavers. That should either confirm or raise questions about your previous test results. Speaking for myself, I know that anxiety can make the test very challenging, so doing a test without the pressures might just make a difference. With that information, you’d be better placed to know how to proceed. I appreciate it’s a very stressful thing to be going through.
Sorry to hear your currently situation. Many people do appeal their results and are successful, in fact, between 2010 and 2019, 7 in 10 informal appeals were successful. We can not guarantee what would happen in your case, but if you feel as though you are still safe to drive, and want to know about the appeals process, Glaucoma UK's Driving and Glaucoma booklet talks through what you need to do, as well as having contact details for the DVLA. The booklet is available here: glaucoma.uk/wp-content/uplo...
Hello. I think you mean the DVLA. Glaucoma UK do not review DVLA test results. We can advise you what you need to do to make an informal appeal but we cannot give our opinions regarding test results.
