Consultants in Warwickshire/West Midlands

I would like to book a private consultation following glaucoma diagnosis earlier this year, I’ve had 3 follow up appointments cancelled by the eye clinic after being told that I needed 3 monthly check ups until I was stable, the latest appointment will mean I’ve waited 6 months.

Can anyone recommend a private consultant in the Warwickshire/West Midlands area please?

Sorry to hear of the problems you’re been experiencing. I can thoroughly recommend my private consultant/surgeon - Mr Imran Masood. He’s a very nice chap and easy to talk to! I usually see him at his rooms in 38 Harborne Road, Edgbaston, Birmingham. Secretary - Yvette Young, 0121 605 1884. He also does NHS at the Birmingham and Midland Eye Centre - in face he did my eye operation there 18 weeks ago, although I went private. If you have health insurance, I’m pretty sure he works from several other clinics/hospitals but you’d have to do a Google search to find out which and where. Hope this helps! Regards, Gill

I’m sure you’d find him very helpful. He trained at Moorfields in London and has several articles on YouTube which you might find interesting/useful.

I had a shunt operation in 2013 at BMEC. Velota Sung operated on me

I have also been treated by Mr Masood both within the NHS and privately. He is a brilliant surgeon and I trust him absolutely with the care of my eyes.

Hi, yes I saw Mr Bansal at the Meriden in Coventry, he was very helpful and kindly wrote to my NHS consultant as he was not convinced that I had straightforward glaucoma. Following this I’ve had an MRI and been referred to a neurologist, they now think I have late onset Multple Sclerosis, which is not what I was expecting at all. Still waiting for a follow up appointment with the neurologist so looks like I’ll be paying to go private again. Thank you for asking

Hello Sodalover, Thanks for your reply. I’m glad you found Mr Bansal to be helpful. It’s always good to know about these people! I’m still going to my chap in Birmingham, although he is very good, it is a bit of a treck from Rugby each time! I’m very sorry to hear of your other disagnosis, that must have come as a shock. I hope your follow-up appointment goes ok for you. I will be thinking of you x
