Hello everyone

I have Ocular hypertension in both eyes 26-27 readings. I also have a thickish cornea. It’s an around 585. I was told that this may affect the Ocular readings.

any thoughts please.

Thank you

Hello,

There is scientific evidence on this, and here is a summary glaucoma.org/the-importance... . There are also research papers that you read in databases like pubmed.

However, the majority of doctors/consultants will follow the conservative route and prescribe you eye drops to lower your pressure. You can ask for preservative-free to minimize the exposure to preservatives that could cause ocular surface disease (manifested usually as very dry eyes).

Hello. Yes, it can affect the accuracy of the ocular pressure readings but depending on how much thicker the cornea is, compared to the normal range is how many digits are subtracted from the pressure reading. It could be that your results of 26-27 have already had this subtracted, I don't know.

Same here. 630 and 613

Have been seeing Consultants for 20 odd years now and they seem to use a 'correction' of minus 3 in my case.
