I have angle closure glaucoma and I was once recommended yellow lenses by the RNIB - not for watching the tv but to cut out any glare. They did work.
Hope this helps.
Thankyou for your reply.
Hi
That's really interesting. I've recently been wondering if there were indoor sunglasses against the glare !
Some builders merchants sell wraparound glasses in various shades. I bought blue for cycling on overcast days. But I might see if they have a yellow version !
Thanks
Hi, I have Greens and Orange's. I can't recommend them enough TBH, personally I think they are an absolute essential for Glaucoma, but obviously far easier to buy if you don't need prescription glasses. Both mine are wrap around. Both block out 90% of all other light spectrum colours, so help correct vision if you have some sight loss, also they help with light sensitivity. The greens are my go to pair I wear them the most outdoors and also indoors alot (work well for headaches as well) The oranges I wear more driving and often in shops (depends what feels more comfortable day to day) both I got from RNIB website. I will wear sunglasses when very sunny also. Hope that helps give you a bit more info. All the best.
Thankyou.That is very helpful advice.
Hi, this is the first I have heard about different colors to help see, TV , read etc. I have a problem seeing my computer screen. I need it to white with dark black letters and I can't see the lt blue that websites use. I try to adjust my settings but I seem to make it worse not doing the right thing. When I get an update from my Browser it sometimes changes my default settings and I am back to square one. A problem that is getting worse as my vision is going so quickly. I just wish that contrast was a more important issue being addressed. I will try the colored lenses to see if that helps, thanks to all.
That's what is great about this forum we can all help each other.I was told about the coloured glasses by someone that is in contact with RNIB.
