Thank you all for your lovely messages. I did settle down and the field test went okay I think. Well that’s what the women at specsavers thought although they’re not allowed to say more. Just got to wait to hear. Probably 2 months wait they said. I’m now going to contact my insurers see if they’ll still cover me under clause 88. Then take it from there. Thank you again! 🙂❤️

Step 1 in the right direction now it's just a waiting game most of us are used to that though ay 🙃 Good luck.

A 2-month wait is very optimistic. I had my test on 19 April 2021 and I am still waiting.

That’s what I said to Specsavers when they said they thought it was a 2 months wait! I think I’ll just start lobbying now. Are you driving on the basis of the clause 88?

Yes, I am, but feel a bit uneasy about it.

Hurrah 😄. Fingers crossed with insurance company and that wait isn't too long x

Hi, So glad you felt that the test went well. The wait can be the worst part!! I’m sure you are covered by section 88, but one way of checking any progress is to go to your web portal on the DVLA web pages. You need your license number, national insurance number and your post code. If you wish to hire a car then this is the same page. When your new licence is granted this page shows the new end date. Since this is a week or so before they post your new license to you, you get “becalmed” earlier!! Try it, it at least, gave me something positive to do. By the way, once your license runs out you will not be able to hire a car or drive abroad.

Oh bless you, definitely a step in the right direction! That always gives such hope, so keep positive I’m sure it will be good news when it comes it’s just the waiting. Take care x

Thank you! Good advice!👍🏻 I’m definitely in the moment as in my beehives this week as it’s honey extraction time followed by treating for varroa and prepping hives for winter! A wonderful, if knackering, distraction for me from my glaucoma and DVLA! 🙂 🐝
