Ramble

I live in the West of England and there is a website for people with sight loss, from any condition, called Sight Support West of England,

Looking at the website recently I noted they've partnered up with the Ramblers Association which will pair up a blind or partially sighted person with a sighted guide, so you can join them in a ramble without fear of falling while walking on strange ground

Just thought I'd pass this on in case anyone's interested or maybe see if there's a similar scheme in your area

Thank you for passing this on. Yes I saw that on the RNIB website. When I’m feeling particularly down about my sight loss I often look on the RNIB website. I find it helps to focus (pardon the pun!) on what you CAN do rather than what you can’t. I have read your posts on sight loss and found them very helpful & positive. I’d like to find a support group in my area but I googled it an there doesn’t seem to be anything. I’m in West Kent.

Thank you for your kind words about my posts, I always try to go on what I can do as opposed to what I cannot do, with regard local support groups might be worth contacting the RNIB or Glaucoma UK in case they know of a local group in your area

I think It’s always nice to know you’re not alone. Yes that’s a good idea. I’m due to have a Trabeculectomy in June I might wait until after that. Hopefully by then Covid restrictions will have eased a bit.
