i have chronic necrotizing aspergillus. i was hospitalized in 2008 for 22 days. i received 90 days of capsofungin infusion and also on voriconazole. i had a relapse in 2010 and was put on 600 mg of voriconazole daily for months until my skin started to peel off. i am in a remission at this time.

I live in the United States, in New Jersey. In 1999 we purchased a newly constructed condo and shortly after started having water infiltration, when it rained. Eventually, a black colored mold started on the basement wall. My husband kept bleaching and painting with drylock paint. It still managed to seep in. I was not aware of how ill someone could get from mold. I had a lung biopsy, where a piece of the lung was removed and clipped with titanium staples. It has been a long road. Dr.Altherton, Is there a specific mold spore that must be inhaled for a person to get deathly ill from chronic necrotizing aspergillus? A flavus mold was found when I had the lung biopsy. Dr.Eckhardt Johanning from New York, said that we have a soupy mixture in our house. He also said that this could cause my condition. Its been a long 4 1/2 years.!!!!!
