hello and thanks GAtherton … just interested in systemic Candida and fungal overgrowth … I have been struggling with fatigue for a 18 months and have a recent sleep apnea diagnosis … also diabetes type 2 and previous long term hypothyroid (35 years)… blood pressure too… I am just looking at eliminating gluten (as that may help) trying to find some relief from the fatigue - so I’m now looking at gut health and parasites/ Candida …. Trying anything … it’s a bit like the holy grail… Thankyou fir your welcome

Hi looking at this myself, I was given 5 years of antibiotics to treat rosacea, this created a opportunity for yeast/fungal overgrowth which then caused all sorts of skin, digestion and joint problems.

The dermatologists finally accepted that it might be a yeast or fungal problem and conducted minimum dose antifungal trials. These were successful but never followed up so 4 annual trials of fluconazole for 4-6 weeks resulted in clearing symptoms for 2-3 weeks after which they returned. The last 6 week trial did cure my Psoriatic arthritis of 12 years.

I am following a Candida diet at present(2 months in) (no flour products, no sugar, no simple carbs) and this has been great its got rid of my gastric problems (wind ,bloating gastric reflux and pain) and my various skin problems are gradually clearing. The idea was to reduce the reservoir of infection (yeast of fungal overgrowth in the gut) that fed all these other problems. This should be conducted under medical supervision with anti fungals to reduce the overgrowth but I can't find anyone who knows enough about this area both GP, Hospital Dermatologist and gastroenterologist claim they can't help.
