Any guidance on the mini pill?

Hi this is my first post here.

I’ve suffered from infertility for 8 years and have recently had a baby following 4 cycles of IVF. My periods were always bad before my baby - painful and very heavy with regular flooding. I was diagnosed with mild endometriosis in Dec 2017, plus possible adenomyosis. Now 4 months after giving birth my periods are worse than ever, bleeding 10-14 days at a time and horrendously heavy such that I have to wear night time pads in the day time (this was alway the case) and change every 30 mins on my worst days, even changing regularly overnight. I can’t continue like this with a young baby, and my gynaecologist has suggested I need the pill to prevent any periods at all. It would need to be the mini progesterone only pill due to high blood pressure issues (I’m also 37). Can anyone give any experiences of this type of pill, particularly after having children as I know hormones can change at this time? I’m terrified of mood swings, acne or weight gain, and also don’t want to stop ovulating as that’s what was the initial start of our issues in trying to conceive.

Thanks all! xx
