I have recently begun taking a contraceptive pill and as advised by my nurse, I took it on the first day of my period. However, I have noticed that this same period is lasting longer than usual - normally, my period only lasts about 5 days but I am currently on my 8th day and it is still on-going. Is this normal?

It's normal, your nurse/doctor should have told you that is can cause irregular/longer/shorter periods when being on the pill
