Hi, I am hoping someone can help. I am looking to see if anyone can tell me if there is any inpatient faculties in the uk for FND. We are looking to go private for a family member. Thanks Paul

Hi Paul I’m not sure if you’ve seen this website as yet? It’s often shared upon diagnoses. Www.neurosymptons.org

Under FAQ you’ll see a list of U.K. treatment centres. I think it’s then a matter of calling the ones nearest to you and asking if they offer private care too.

I did have 5 days FND specialist Neuro physio privately, but back in 2016 in London. Then a further few days NHS physio at st George’s in London, under the excellent Prof Mark Edwards.

If you are near London, his clinic is at at George’s so that would be a great place to start. Think FND action website has a similar list for you too.

I’m 8 years into this with an FND movement disorder ( leg) so please do shout if have any more questions

Everyone on here really does understand the struggle it can be to find the right treatment in a timely manner too.

Prof. Mark Edwards and Dr. Mike Dilley head up an entity called Brain & Mind Ltd. in London. Prof. Edwards has been mentioned many times on FND Hope, always in glowing terms. These two doctors know a great deal about FMD treatment.

I am in the U.S. and thought about doing their 6-week inpatient program at Wellington Hospital, a private hospital in London. Since I don't live in the U.K., I don't really understand your NHS / private system.

I would begin with contacting Brain and Mind's admin, Cairstiona Bennett. Frankly, I found her a bit difficult to work with; if you're getting nowhere with her, please post again and I will try to provide further resources.
