Good morning NFD friendsMy doctor tells me i have NFD and I have have had tests for dizziness but I have not had any tests would this be from the condition? I'm starting to feel more anxious with not working and worried about money I'm only getting standard sick pay from work £116 per week , I feel that I could run away from everything, my wife is a great help but I don't want her doing everything at times I feel good I don't have the pain like a lot of you but I feel I can't cope my doctor says I need to talk to healthy minds that should help me what do you think I should do , I keep my manager informed of everything going on but still says I can't return to work until I know a definite diagnosis I work in a care home as a domestic assistant I love my job and so want to get back like all of us to a normal life but is that possible.

I have a hospital appointment today with the TIA Team and Friday for the fine needle test please keep you fingers crossed I definitely need it .

Have a good day everyone.

morning, FND is diagnosed by a neurologist but if you feel your able to work I don’t understand what the problem is. FND is not transferred. If you have issues where you need to rest more I’m sure if you talk to your employer they will help just be straight with them about what you can and cannot do. As to your mind it does get you down most of the time when you can’t do anything, I found talking therapy helps. You can go nhs or private (£15 an hour). I found it helped me as I was having very dark thoughts and I was assessed as urgent care so it was quick. Good luck for the future hope you get back to work soon. Kevin

Good morning kev60Thanks again for your reply, I work as a domestic assistant in a care home most of the time by my self and i don't see any of the care staffing for some time, my manager says she is worried if anything happens if I collapse, as a domestic you are on your feet alot and she doesn't know how to treat me unless it's a stroke .

I'm under going a number of tests yesterday I saw a TIA consultant who wants me to have a MRI on Friday as well as a EMG Test .

I've currently had stroke like symptoms for over a week , I get very confused and find it hard to talk never mind staying awake I just want to sleep 24/7 . Its pulling me down now and just want answers, my neurologist says it's a fnd but wants more tests done first.

Take care

Kevin

Good to see your getting help, patience is something you have to learn to live with . It took 19 months to get an FND diagnosis and I had 11+ scans (MRI, CT, X-Ray and PET) and over 100 blood tests felt like a pin cushion lol. But you will get there in the end. Stay positive 😀 . Kevin
