Good Morning Peeps.
Since my accident last year, I had an appointment in London thinking it was another 'no you haven't got...' story. Only to be told I did! That was April.
I commenced my five week FND programme in August/September. Before
I started, I was unable to walk unaided, with sticks for short distances and wheelchair for long.
The areas of specialist support I received were Neuropsychologist, PT and OT. For two days a week we talked and did. Baby steps then at the end of it, full blown running with my eye's closed! I wouldn't have believed it if I hadn't done it but it's TRUE. I still have the occasional myoclonic jerk but now I have strategies that enable me to cope with them. I'm back doing Yoga to help with my sleep patterns and painful back. I know that occasionally I may suddenly go off but by managing my energy levels I'm sure these too will lessen.
I've carried a hell of a lot of baggage around for 50 years and lost 10 years of my life. No more! So from the words of the music by Frozen I'm going to Let it go, let it go... And with a swish of my head, I'm gone....
I know that what has just happened is building blocks. The start of my new life and I won't be running again just yet but slowly slowly I know that I'm going to get better because for the first time, I have proper support.
