I had a tumor removed from my bladder December 30th and have a catheter ever since, only one good point it has you won't need to get up during the night. It does restrict your daily life a little, and hygiene is very important, mine is still in because I needed Radiotherapy  on the bladder with ended 7 weeks ago but it was also discovered I have seconderies on my lungs and I start Chemotherapy this afternoon. I have learned to live with my catheter, hope all goes well for you.

Hate catheters. Had one in for a week at home and it was so uncomfortable.

Being up all night to change the bag. Felt like a new woman when it was removed.

I have had a catheter in since December 2015 after having a tumor removed from my bladder, it was thought it was best during the Radiotherapy and Chemotherapy treatments I am having, I have had 2 attempted withdrawals with very painful consequences and it was quickly put back, I was told last week it will be with me for the foreseeable future, it does have only one good side, with the night bag added I am not going during the night. Stay positive.
