Excellent report today from our good friend, Patrick. I got the following message (edited for privacy) earlier today:

We now finally have internet!
We came through remarkably well. Devastation to the east, west & south, but we are fine.
Power came back after 3 days . . . We are lucky to have . . . county electric.
I hate using cable for internet. Crazy that it took 19 days to restore service. We originally had Dish. Wonderful service, but they couldn't support streaming due to satellite limit.
Also, we have well water. Asheville still lacks running drinking water.

I also had an email outreach to Nalakrats on Monday, but have yet to get a reply.
Nice to now know Patrick is S&W,

As an update to the post, Patrick got an email from Nal today (Thursday) saying all was "excellent" in his neighborhood. So, both our good friends have come through Helene in good condition - at least. in comparison to many other areas in western NC.
I have edited the post title to reflect the good news about Nal!
I suggest that we all lift a weekend goodwill toast (with you fav beverage) to the continued good health of these two very special patient gurus from the mountains of NC.
Do you know if Nalakrats is posting on another forum? I really miss his wisdom and personality. I am not sure what I would have done about my neuropathy issues if it hadn't been for him.
Mascouche - I share your sense of loss - as both Nal and Patrick are primary contributors to me still being alive and well in 2024.
Nal started posting at Inspire, but I'm not sure he has stayed active there. Admins here (unrelated to FPC forum, BTW) would like for all of us active at FPC to go elsewhere?? Seems in direct conflict with the HU "Empowering self-care" statement found here":
Thanks a bunch. I just registered now. I think his last post there goes back to March. At least I will be able to read his previous bits of wisdom thanks to you 👍
And we all know the one individual who showed up, took over this site with his abrasive and overbearing know-it-all manner. The moderator saw fit to give him license to carry on and chase away our best contributors.
Glad to learn that Patrick and Nal survived the hurricane duo successfully and that they remain healthy. I too miss their insight and wish them well. Please urge them and others to visit Cancer Patient Lab. It is open to all and is a good source of information and sharing. No egos as of yet get in the way.
ragnar - I check in myself every so often at CPL. It is good resource for any and all PCa patients to check out. I'm currently treading water with my 3-generic-drug treatment plan, so have not yet registered there. I assume Russ is still a major participant? And that he and you are both doing well?
Thanks for the comment and the CPL reminder - Stay S&W, cujoe
Great to hear that. I was wondering about Patrick, a very highly esteemed contributor. I wonder if Nal is every coming back. He was an equally great contributor.
