Hello, very sorry to hear that. My dad had chemotherapy for advanced prostate cancer (mostly palliative) it worked really well at first (reduced the pain greatly) but then had to be stopped after 2 or 3 months when the affects intensified and he became very sick and hospitalised. Once he was over the sickness he felt much better and I think would've carried on with the chemo again but his oncologist decided to stop it.

It's a really hard decision on whether to go for chemo or not. Personally I didn't want my dad to have it given the affects and I'm not a great believer in chemo anyway, but it was his decision and it did work at first and improve his quality of life for a short while. If you have any questions I would be happy to help although it was nearly 8 years ago now that my dad had chemo so not able to remember exactly how long he was on it for or exact details. So sorry you are going through this I know how hard it is been there with my dad it was the worst thing.
