I have rheumatoid arthritis and lupus
I had RA when I was in my early 30’s (76 next week). Fighting it and weird humour really helps. In later life I had heart issues and I really resented that after all why me after everything else! I hope you find the others
I have both SLE, and RA as well. The lupus was diagnosed when I was young and I still managed to raise 3 kids, even after multiple miscarriages. The RA came in my 50's; and I was lucky to have a doc who was on top of things & started me on biologics right away. Things are deteriorating with the RA, but I didn't expect that my "golden" years would be easy, so I figure every day that I'm still up and walking around is a good day! I have 3 grandbabies now and I'm able to care for them with my husband's help, whenever our kids need us. Life is still pretty good. Try to have a positive attitude; it goes a long way. Lots of folks have multiple autoimmune diseases. I guess that once your immune system misfires, it's not unheard of for it to happen again, especially if you get hit with illness. I hope your doctors stay on top of things and you can accept their advice. Do your research and be your own best advocate. Stay out of the sun, stay active, exercise without overdoing it and watch your diet. Extra pounds are hard on your joints. I hurt a whole lot more after carrying around a 30 pound toddler! If you have any specific questions, let me know. I'm in the US too.
