Did anyone have to shield for a couple of weeks before starting ivf due to the corona virus? Not sure what the advice is?

Hi CD91 before I started my injection I had a covid swab done and if that was positive then the treatment wouldn’t start that month. I also had one done one just before egg collection and again if it was positive they would not do the collection xx

Evening

With my clinic you have to start shielding from day of first injection up to egg collection. So roughly 2 weeks or so. So I'm taking shielding leave from work, which will certainly help with stress levels. Think shielding is part of the HFEA guidance. Hope that helps xx

We had to sign a lot of forms about COVID-19. She checked we were working from home and being extra careful. Basically if either of us have any symptoms, they won’t see us. So it will all be cancelled. They also took our temperatures at egg collection. Seems sensible to me! Good luck x

We are about to start in November - hopefully 🤞 We just had to have a Covid swab as it is now two weeks prior to starting, so like said above, I assume if positive we won’t be allowed to start this month. We then have to have another covid swab day 9, and then we have to isolate after that until after embryo transfer we were told. We don’t have to isolate yet, but been told to limit contact where possible to just essential.

Hopefully your clinic will guide you? 🥰 All the best🤍
