Hey, i didn’t exactly relax i did short walks but only few days, so basically when i felt like it but most days i rested after egg transfer. Im 5wks 3 days but I really dont think this has got anything to do with resting or walking. I would personally do what you feel best, also you can rest for a few days and then start on short walks maybe? Xx

I went back to work, I made adjustments I would feel appropriate as if I was pregnant (no heavy lifting etc) I’ve only had 1 fresh cycle and it wa bfn. Due to start fet now xx

I was the same as Staceymac and went straight back to work and had a failed cycle. Although I don’t think it made any difference to the outcome, it made me think ‘should I have relaxed more?’ We’re moving on to an FET now and I’m going to take some time off to rest this time. That way I’m hoping I won’t feel as guilty as I did before. I know this won’t help but do what you feel is best for you and good luck xx

My first cycle I went to back to work and did gentle exercises and had a bfn, I have read about women resting after transfer and getting a bfp

Round one : rested bfn from EC to OTD

Round two : worked throughout, bfn

Round three: week off between EC and ET then back to work bfp xx

My first fresh cycle I had one day off and went back to work and had bfn. Second frozen transfer I took time off work, rested, relaxed and did short walks (as had a 5 month old puppy to walk) and got bfp - now my head strong, bossy 2.5 year old. Currently in 2ww after using last two frozen blastos and resting again but with less walks as my then puppy has gone to live with my parents now (who are semi retired). I did go for a small gentle walk on the treadmill this morning as my legs are seizing up. I would always advise to rest if possible, but its not always possible. Like many have said and what the nurses told me - what you do in the 2 weeks following transfer is highly unlikely to affect the outcome. But for piece of mind do what you feel is right for you.

Good luck! xxx

For my fresh transfer, I was not that active and I got a BFN. After my frozen transfer, I went for regular walks several times a week (I used to walk my 6km run circuit) and I am now 18 weeks pregnant. I returned back to training at the gym from 10 weeks. Best to listen to your body and it depends on what your body is used to.

My OH rested in the 2ww & is 18+3 today. However, I agree with what others have said, it totally depends on what feels right for you. I don’t think there is any strong evidence to suggest either is better than the other so it’s entirely up to the individual. 😊 Good luck! 🤞🏼🍀 xx

Depends what you mean by rest. There’s no evidence that sitting or lying down the whole time leads to a better outcome, but if you usually do any high intensity exercise it’s probably best to give it a miss.

I just went about my life as normal (I’m fairly active) except I didn’t go to the gym. I went to my sister’s hen party straight after my transfer (no drinking obviously!) & I got a BFP.

I relaxed - just gentle walking.....x

I relaxed as had a fair bit of pain following ET, so i had no choice. I relaxed for a week but did very gentle walking to keep circulation up. I got a very unexpected and against the odds BFP nearly 40 years old very very low AMH and stage 4 endo, now trying for a sibling. Your body is doing a lot of work during that time. You've had a lot of medication to get here, and likely on progesterone. It's all a lot for the body to handle.

I am sure most fertile people can run and bounce around like nothing has changed but i think it's more delicate for us. I'd stick to walking for circulation but nothing more. Good luck.

Didn’t rest but we went out on day trips. On all 4 twws. So it mostly involved car journeys and being on my feet. But I didn’t go to work (obviously) or do any exercise as such. I’ve had two bfps and bfns xx

Fresh cycle 1 - took rest of the day off, then back to work. No running. BFN

Fresh cycle 2 - took rest of the day off, then back to work. Short easy running. BFN

FET - afternoon transfer. Went to Cornwall at 6am the next day. Walked a lot on cliff paths, beaches etc. Then went to watch my partner racing his Caterham the following weekend. Lots more walking and standing. No running. BFP

For the two days after the transfer I relaxed and pottered around the house, on day three I flew to California with my family and then had a fairly full on 2 weeks travelling around California (I thought it was going to be more relaxing than it was) including Disneyland with all rides and all the general stress of travelling (we have a four year old as well) and I flew back on my own with him which, again wasn't the most relaxing thing 😊. We tested while on holiday and got a BFP and I'm now 14 weeks pregnant. Good luck xx

Thank you everyone! Such a mixed bag, I must admit I was so confused what to do as my 1st cycle I went on with life normally, working and not doing anything different ect ,... then bfn. This time round I have taken the two weeks off after transfer to see if the outcome is different? Thanks for all your advice and input, I think I will take it easy with some nice relaxing walks and acupuncture for good measure. Good look everyone 😘

Rest, rest, rest! Feet up and relax. After transfer our doctor asked what we were planning on doing that afternoon and I said we were going shopping and she said firmly "no your not, your going home to rest". I took her advice and it was successful, in fact our boy turns two on Sunday! Best of luck to you xxx

I rested for the first few days then gentle walking. My fet worked.

After embryo transfer I went shopping and then out for lunch. I think I avoided the gym for the 2 week wait though from memory. 29 weeks preg with twins. Good luck!! X
