The internal scan shouldn't hurt. You shouldn't need a day off - but it might be nice to take one anyway. I've been to scans on my own & with my hubby, the scan is probably the least of your worries in terms of whats to come with fertility treatment. All the best!

I didn't think the scans were painful. I went by myself for all my scans. It's interesting seeing your ovaries change. Good luck.

I went by myself to all of my scans too and had no problems. They were quick and easy. I was worried they would hurt a bit like smears, but never had any pain, just a bit of pressure as they move the wand around to get a good look. Good luck!

I went with my partner but never felt it painful. If anything I felt discomfort later in the day or the next day. Nothing as bad as period pain though. More like too many abs exercises.

Good luck. X

The scan takes no more then 20mins no pain at all. Maybe a bit of pressure but that is it. I went on my own for both times and didn't need to take any time off work. So you really don't need to worry. Good luck

No pain, the only reason you ay wish to take someone is to help remember what was said, and to ask questions. good luck

Hi, please don't worry about the scan hurting. As everyone says above you just feel a little bit of pressure. I've had 3 done and no pain at any time, not even after. The key is to relax that part of your body. To be honest I'd rather a scan than a smear! Good idea to take someone with you for the above reasons - asking questions and remembering things etc, but I've had scans on my own with my other half in the other room. Try to think of it as something exciting - you get to see inside your own body! It is interesting if nothing else. xxx

No pain for me during the scans either, they're are quite interesting to hear what's going on! I always had hubby with me but I'm no good at taking in info so good to have someone else listening! You'll be fine on your own though, you can always call the nurses if you forget what they said! Good luck xx
