I'm just curious if anyone here looke... - Living with Fatty...
I'm just curious if anyone here looked at the report on The State of NAFLD/NASH Care in America survey, If not you should read it.
Yes, I did
Yes
Yes, I did. It is incredibly frustrating to not be able to make a big impact to the state of liver disease or any other chronic illness. Medical science has not advanced past being able to perform life saving surgeries, fix a broken arm or leg. When it comes to to chronic illness they are light years away. Everything is autoimmune, idiopathic or labels get created just to put a name on it.
We as patients have to more than ever advocate and educate ourselves if we ever want to make a change. We must talk to our doctors, provide them data and help them learn so as to not make the same mistakes they did with us. We must be active, NOT passive!
Yes, I did, Wayne.
Yes I did and was astonished there was not more participation. I am grateful for your dedication and knowledge.
Hello Wayne. Yes I did however I did not participate in the survey as I am from New Zealand. The results however certainly tally with my experience here.
I have as well. I am very surprised at the number of people in the community that did not take the survey. I am.not sure why.
I did.
Yes I did and was really wasn’t surprised. I went to the dermatologist last week and we were talking about fatty liver . His comment to me was it’s no big deal right! So I educated him and told him about the work you were doing to help educate others. He said he had no idea because when he became a doctor it was no big deal! I said well now it’s a big deal!
I read the report and like you surprised at the lack of response. I was diagnosed with NASH last November and from the research I've done the loudest complaint from those that suffer from this disease is the lack of doctor knowledge and support. I'm on a mission now and have made copies of the fibrosis calculator info for my friends and family to take to their physicians, I appreciate your knowledge and all you do to help us!
I read the report Wayne! I also completed the survey as I do others from my PBC groups. Double whammy, double worry but you have helped me understand more about NASH than anyone else (medical, personal, professional).
There was a lot of info presented and the graphics excellent. I thought it was easy to understand and very interesting to compare my answers to the results. Very friendly informative!
I appreciate your diligence in getting the word out there about liver disease. What I’d like to see more of is articles about insurance companies and the fight doctors have in getting the test they need to get a clear picture of their health.
Thank you again for being there for us. You must have big shoulders!👏🏼

I contributed to it and then read it. I agree with others that there is still far too little reseatch and mmedical knowledge out there re NASH.
I did the survey when it was out and read the report last week. It is disappointing more people didnt participate. The report confirmed my pathway of signs and symptoms not being taken seriously at the beginning of my journey until I was in full blown cirrhosis. I have a good care team at Vanderbilt now, but I wish I had never needed them.
