Our school does not see the need for them to call in the ed.psych.has anyone gone private ?

Many thanks ,I am keeping it in reserve at moment as daughter has a consult with neuro psychiatrist this week,but will definitely contact ed psych in near future .Thanks

Yes, we went private with both ed psychologist and neuropsychologist. The latter was more informative. Ed psychologist measured IQ which was in the high average but he did not take account of anything else. Neuropsychologist was excellent. Did measure IQ but included memory, attention, language, sensory, development from birth, behaviour, adaptive skills etc. our sons IQ was still in the high average but in a classroom setting was unlikely to perform to his IQ. I would imagine a neuropsychiatrist would do much the same.

Many thanks for your advice ,neuro psychiatrist said she was low vocational level of education and we should make a lot of noise in our school to get her more assistance.I am tired of the gap between her true level /behaviour and what school says she is capable of.She presents as a 5 year old and is extremely dependent on me for emotional support.Furthermore in my limited understanding if a child has an impaired level of immediate verbal recall and impaired level of organisational skills(she lives in the moment) she has a learning disability as most information is verbal and it affects all her life.Rant over
