As a first timer with Bell's Palsy after 8 weeks and some physio (TENS) the eyebrow and eyelid are working again with some cheek muscle movement.

Question:

My cheek still feels numb (like novocaine) and this coupled with a metallic taste at the back of the mouth around the molar on the same side with numbness of the side of the tongue --- is this a normal symptom of Bell's???

Yes, the metallic taste seems to be an effect. Not pleasant, and no-one warned me. Lasted a couple of months in my case, but looks like you are making a quicker recovery.
