Today I'm really frustrated with the constipation world. My son's consultant refered my son to a constipation clinic which is nhs funded. She did this to try and give us more support and a facility which can help us more on a daily basis.
I have found out today this referal has been refused as I live in a different postcode and my doctors surgery is not in the right postcode neither. All I want is a bit of help and the best for my son. Has any body else had this problem and if so what did you do? Why do you have to fight for everything ???

Argh I feel your pain. I’m battling at the moment to get help with my son who is impacted and can no longer tolerate movicol (his gastroenterologist has refused to see him 🙄) . The pain, soiling and impact on self esteem is bad enough without the kids feeling that they are beyond help. I would find out if there is an equivalent service you can access more locally and if not, contact the constipation clinic direct and ask them for where to go more locally to you. If you’re feeling proactive you could approach the local CCG to explain your concern about this service not being available to you locally. Good luck xx
