Hello Before you make your decision to stop taking Lacosomide please remember that virtually every anti-epilepsy drug that there is causes tiredness.

I think the main thing that you need to think about is Does this drug control your epilepsy. If it does then my advice would be to stick with it.

I have had epilepsy all of my life so I have got a good idea about things

Wish you well

Hi, I take it along with Kepra, I find that it normally takes me around 3 months for the after effects to wear off it made me feel really queasy, I still get really tired by the end of the day but you just have to listen to your body, as a mum and working part time I know I have to do certain things during the day but I don't stress if I need an early night sometimes I go to bed the same time as the children and if I can't do it all then there's always tomorrow, hope your soon feeling ok again.

I used to be on lacosomide for 16 years! The one pleasant thing that I had with it was - a hard sleep! Which I didn't realise was from lacosomide till I stopped taking it! It would take me an hour to wake up - moving around - yes - but not communicating well. every patient is different! I have had epilepsy since birth - now 51! Personally, I think that being sleepy or tired is one of the not so severe side effects - put up with it! If it is reducing seizures, then stick with it.
