Hi, my son is 19 years old and has epilepsy. He has a lot of seizures and has them day and night. He also suffers from severe migraines that can last for days. I recently took him back to the Drs as he has had an increase in his migraines and they aren't like they used to be. Every night for the past 2 weeks he wakes in excruciating pain and vomiting. His appointment to see a neurologist isn't until the end of March. I really don't know what to do. Would be very grateful of any replies. Thank you

I would recommend contacting the neurologist's secretary and asking for an emergency appointment as you can't wait until the end of March. I have done this before and it was sorted out for me very quickly, but for you this will obviously depend on the how the neurologist/hospital works. Good luck and I hope things improve for your son.

I have to agree with Kantey.

I've done the same thing, contacted the neurologists secretary and explained exactly what's happening and usually get a quick response and appointment if needed.

Given the symptoms your son is experiencing the end of March is too far away. You could also get his GP to re-enforce your request to the neurologist as well.

Hope all goes well and your son is seen sooner rather than later. Please keep us updated on his progress.

Sorry to hear and read the above... I suggest you also contact the Neurologist's secretary/reception and tell them straight you cannot wait until March and need an urgent appointment... Your son's health comes first! You also have the right to find another Neurologist and go for a second opinion! It sounds like your son needs urgent attention and the quicker he is seen to, the better!
