Just a quick question, is it difficult to remove endo from the pouch of Douglas? When I had my op in October for excision on my us ligament my discharge note said endo was also noted on my Pouch of Douglas but It didn’t say it was removed and I just wondered why that might be and also could that cause constipation?
I’m seeing my consultant but not till January and just wondering if anyone had experience/knowledge of this.
TIA 🙂

I have it there too and it wasn't removed on my lap as it was entangled in scaring attaching my bowel to uterus. I think they might need bowel surgeons in theatre when it's there. I had to have a follow up mri to see how bad it was near my bowel. Luckily nit in much pain so for now it's being left alone.
Hey, I have endo on my POD I was told that they didn't like removing it from there as its difficult to make sure that they don't damage the surrounding tissues. As for the constipation it can be caused by endo being in the POD I vary from constipation to when I gotta go I've gotta go.
pOD is most common place to have endo and it can be removed. It depends on its severity so if it wasn’t removed it’s likely severe and needs a specialist to treat. As you had endo on your us ligaments it’s likely you have rectovaginal endo and that may cause issues with bowel. I had that and my bowel was stuck to my pelvic wall with endo and caused constipation.
I’d say it may be worth getting all your notes from op - you can do it for free by applying under a subject access request to the hospital.
