Hi all - I hope everyone is well and managing!

I had a scan the other day that shows endo and an ovarian cyst and super grateful to know that I wasn’t going mad and imagining all my pain and symptoms.

Unfortunately I have always struggled with my weight and all the pain and stress has caused me to comfort eat for over a year and I’ve piled on the weight - but desperate to regain some control and start getting back into some exercise!

Really want to start going back to the gym but I’m so worried that my fatigue and pain will really get in the way - I know that I will listen to my body but I jsut wanted to know if anyone has any advice or tips for getting back into the gym without overdoing it?!

Thank you ☺️☺️

Hey, if you’re in a position to get one for a few sessions, see if you can get a PT and let them know your symptoms so they can also tailor a plan that works for you. I’m the other side , I found out I had stage 4 endo in jan and had a lap in March. I love training and saw my PT for the first time on Thursday, it was exhausting and really knocked me, but he didn’t push me and I only did what I could, but it’s baby steps and time will heal. Hope that’s helpful xx

I was going to say something very similar. After a laparoscopy / hysteroscopy, I did enlist a PT and it really helped. He could see if I was pushing myself too hard and helped adapting the exercise. There is plenty you will still be able to do. If a PT is not an option, your gym should have instructors who will be able to help x

Hiya, I am so pleased you’re taking this step for yourself and happy to share as I am in this place too.

Someone paid for me to see a Life Coach and we do nutrition to move towards a plant based, gluten free, alcohol free, beautiful healthy me. Which I want and am loving becoming. It’s hard, as change is, but I am worth it. Aside from Endo I feel great inside. Energy increasing, skin, better bowel health, glowing, thick hair and great nails and smaller tummy - yay 😃

We went to the gym together and I loved it. Felt so at peace with my bigger shaped body and comforted by other people starting from scratch after lockdown.

Listen to your body, but don’t make excuses and just do 30 mins if you feel shocking with fatigue or symptoms. But forming a positive habit is the way to approach this, in my opinion. Decide how many times a week and what days you wanna go and do it. You can learn as you go.

I can’t go atm as had Mirena out and my body is in chaos with heavy bleeding, pain, brain fog. It’s easing but I can’t go when I am like this. But I can watch my eating by skipping some treats for now. Upping veg and making better choices for my body.

I needed support because couldn’t do this all alone.....with what I have going on right now.

Hope this helps, happy to share more of you want to message me, feel free x x x
