Anti GAD positive

Anti GAD has come back positive for our daughters undiagnosed encephalitis. Has anyone experience with what this is or means? Her symptoms are all behavioural and cognitive. No seizures or trouble with movement, speech

I have antibodies against GAD65. What is her titer level?

I have to get that info from the doctors I guess.. they're not quite forthcoming

Ask, ask, and keep asking. About everything. Be annoying, and embrace it.

Her titer level is 9. They said today that it may have even had a rise from the ivig so it's no diagnosis. We can wipe that now. Still seronegative.

Hmm I find it unlikely that a contribution from IVIg would be that much. Neurologists like to say that 20 nmol/L is the cut-off to be diagnostically relevant, but antibody titer can skyrocket at any given time, with or without immunotherapy and not necessarily from it.
