Hello everyone, we’ve got 2 tickets for the encephalitis conference “My Brain my story” in October. Not sure if anyone else is planning to go but we’re hoping to be there.

Happy to meet up with others.

Hi Remos,

Thanks for highlighting this event, I wasn't aware of such a local conference (I live in Milton Keynes). I have booked a ticket and so hope to be there.

It would be lovely to meet up if we make it there on the day! You just never know how you are going to feel 🤞

Hi GreenBambo - That’s wonderful. I agree it all depends on how we all feel on the morning. Fingers crossed.

Hi Green Bamboo. Just thought I’d let you know that I won’t be going to Birmingham next week. I’m currently experiencing an unpleasant crash (my first in quite a few weeks). It might lift by next Saturday but I’m not taking any chances. Hope you and A-B-D-S manage to meet up.

Another time hopefully.

hI Remos, I am sorry to hear you are having a tough time.

I don't think I am going to make it either due to car issues but I have got a virtual ticket and plan to participate that way.

I hope you feeltronger very soon

Birmingham is in England UK but I have booked a virtual ticket and you can do the same if it's too far away for you. There are at least two people from America attending virtually.

Hi A-B-D-S,

Just to let you know I’ve decided not to attend Birmigham next Saturday. Not feeling too good at the moment and don’t know how long it will last. So I’ve decided not travel and am letting everyone know. It would have been great to see you and GB but hopefully you guys will manage to connect.

I’d be interested to know your thoughts on the event.

Remos.

Bit too far for us sadly. As I’d love to meet up with our lovely gang.

You can always book a virtual ticket Wygella like I will do. I can only ever attend virtual events or meetings and so on because of my profound OCD.

But Wygella, there is an in person event in Manchester you can attend on the 13th of August. Too expensive for me to get a taxi to Manchester but if it had have been almost on my doorstep I might have thought about it.

That’s a good idea. I’ll have a go at the virtual attendance. Not sure I’m ready for Manchester yet but I might be by next year!!! Thank you.

Hi Zanzibar3, you can find more information about this event (and book a free ticket if you would like to) here: encephalitis.info/my-brain-... (thank you so much Paula-38 and Remos for informing about the event in this thread :) - for anyone attending virtually and wanting to connect with others after the talks, if you click the "My Brain : Story - Virtual ticket & breakout room" option when booking your ticket, you will have access to a "breakout room" at the end of the event where you can meet other digital attendees and Encephalitis Society staff)

I was asked about the breakout room and I said yes, so they said they will put my name down for it and send me the link nearer the time and that applies to all virtual attendees too!
