Wanting to be a helpful partner

My boyfriend recently has been diagnosed with CFS/ME and it does explain a lot about how his health and energy throughout the day isn't what it used to be. I also have a friend suffering with the condition and hers is quite severe, so I'm trying to settle it in my mind that I want to be as helpful as possible, but without becoming patronising or 'helping too much'.

My friend has been able to do so much despite the fact her health and fatigue worsened over the last year, but I think knowing my boyfriend has been recently diagnosed is making me more paranoid and worried about him. I don't want to end up googling a thousand things about it that worry me (especially given my worries about my OWN health recently).

Any advice on the best ways to help a significant other with CFS/ME?

please look at the pheonix rising site it has a lot of up to date information . and a helpful and large community of M E sufferers . and tell your partner to pace because overdoing things can push you into a severe crash some of which can last for many years. also show him to the pheonix rising site he may find it very helpful. a lifesaver for many.

Thanks for the advice! Will have a look at Phoenix Rising and fingers crossed it will all come in handy!
