Has anyone heard of the new diet craze Forskolin? How does it affect CKD stage 3?

Hello Kitten529, I can't say that I have heard of this latest craze diet. However I did a basic research on this herbal supplement. It is an active compound found in the roots of the Indian Coleus plant. Like every compound it does have side effects therefore I would be very wary of trying anything without the instruction and information from a Renal dietician and /or your health professional.

Has any other member heard of it please?

The Kidney Foundation and NHS.uk has very specific and informative information on the safe diet for suffers of kidney disease.

Usually any product like this, that claims to melt fat away......is a scam! If it really worked everyone would know about it and be taking it! I would not use since you really don't know the effect it will have on your kidneys. Always, ask your nephrologist before taking any diet product or supplement. You really don't need an added problem for your kidneys. Not worth the risk!!!
