Hi Kim yes my husband had his kidney removed 2010 and his other kidney function has dropped to. 19% now he is under the specialist but we are just waiting to see them for 2 nd time,we wasn't told about diet so not sure if it will make any difference as all kidneys are different bug I did hear potassium is not good for low function kidneys .

Thank you for your reply. Mines dropping rapidly and waiting to see nephrologist. I hope your husband gets sorted soon.

Your Oncologist and Nephrologist will be aware of your problems, but don't be afraid to ask questions if your unsure of anything, after all it's your body and your Illness.. my egfr is 49 and I have one Kidney but not because I had cancer so yours is different to mine.. So any concerns ask one or both of your doctors that's what there their for, well should be if they are good Dr's & hsptl, if you don't feel able to ask them or a bit nervous write questions before you go and take someone with you for support or to ask the questions on your behalf..hope this was of some help and good luck xx
