You need to get a Diagnostic Assessment specifically for the Disabled Student's Allowance which is funding for students with specific learning difficulties when they are entering Higher Education. You can get this assessment from age 16 upwards. It is not guaranteed that you get the funding, the assessment needs to show evidence of a specific learning difficulty. The specialist undertaking the assessment, therefore, should also be competent in looking for other spLDs such as ADHD/ADD, Dyspraxia as well as Dyslexia.
You can get the assessment done by a Psychologist or a specialist teacher who holds an Assessment Practising Certificate and lists of specialist teachers are on the Patoss website so you can find one in your area patoss-dyslexia.org Alternatively Dyslexia Action should be able to help you.
