Hi and welcome. I’m one of those people who needed to stop cuz alcohol was controlling me, I wasn’t controlling it. I couldn’t cut back and I tried it all and invented some. I had to quit. Alcohol was was the cause of my problems or atleast exacerbated the ones that started me drinking in the first place. I just wanted to let you know that you have been heard and good luck on your journey. 🍀

Thank you for your reply. Good to know you are out there. 😀. Its far too hot for alcohol at the moment anyway. Just reaching for water & soft drinks at the moment.

Yup…it’s waaaay too hot. Water all the time and ice cold lemonade is my heat buster.

My suggestion isn't particularly healthy but really help curb my cravings - sugar! I indulged in all the chocolate and cake I had been telling myself was bad up til then. Its only a short term help, as sugar isn't good for the body either, but at least it doesn't give hangovers!

I love your suggestion! Seriously, I'm relaxing my 'diet rules' simply for the reason that I want to conquer one thing at a time. I will end up putting on a few pounds but at least it's not as bad for my health as alcohol. 😀.

Hi I also have took the NHS pledge as I was so used to coming in from work and having a glass of wine or maybe 2. I would just like to be able to have a drink if we are out or celebrating. I do not want to go back to drinking every night and saying it’s ok it’s only 1. Good luck 🥰
