My wife has a PD Dialasis tube fitted and needs munipulating but the hospital and renal unit we use does not do it, we need to find a hospital which does non invasive munipulating it in lincolshire or anywhere. hospital has told her to go home and die

The hospital actually told her to go home and die?!? That is horrible and lacks compassion, understanding. I'm in the U.S. but I would think the surgeon who Placed the PD tube could assist. Have you tried them? Talk to nephrologist. They are responsible for her care AND dialysis so it's in their hands. Don't accept NO for an answer. Blessings

Wife spent two weeks in Leicester hospital and they done nothing, she was sent there by another hospital because of slow drain, I had to take her out of there in the end and we are trying to find somewhere else.

Hi, I'll be joining the PD community in a couple of months and am trying to learn all the "complexities" that can possibly happen. This one caught my eye. What does "manipulating" mean exactly? I'm unfamiliar with that term. What are you needing them to do? I'd like to ask my kidney doc about this when i see him next month.

the PD pipe can get blocked with thin fibre strands this is normally cleared with Heprin in the bag, in my wifes case the pd pube has moved and is against the inside wall and it needs moving to a better position so that it drains properly, our local renal unit cannot do this and she was sent to Leicester who are totally useless and did nothing, trying to find better hospital, apart from that you should be ok, stools can be a problem with capd (pd pipe)

ahh, blocked by fibre strands. I am learning more and more every day from this site. Thanks for the explanation. I still have so much to understand and be ready to deal with. I truly hope you find a hospital that will help resolve this for your wife. I totally agree that not all hospitals or renal doctors are the same. I got a feeling I may have to travel to a larger city than where I live if I ever get complications like your wife is having. I may go ahead and start looking at available resources now, so I have a list of facilities and contact numbers in my file "just in case". You are helping others by alerting us to what could happen down the road. I wish I could help you, but living in the states, I have no clue about resources in your area. Hopefully others on here might.

Wife now in hospital, they are going to try her Hemodialysis fissure in her arm, apparently nobody could get the needle in untill they used a scanner as the vein went round the back of her arm and not in the normal place, she kept going faint last time they tried it, also trying to get her pd pipe unblocked.
