Thanks for the reply. and sorry for my late reply!!

I am on Hemo dialysis since 2011. We can share and

discuss anything as we are having a similar kind of life.

Do you take Cinacalcet to reduce PTH(ParaThyroedHormon) level?

Do you take 3 dialysis/week?

Hi Sabju,

I have had high PTH results in the past, I have never taken anything for it. I had my parathyroid glands removed March last year, for almost a year my PTH has been low, <4. It has started to creep up and my latest reading was 52.7 this was 5 days ago. My consultant says, they may have missed some or the hormone is being produced by the thyroid glands?

I dialyise on twilight, as I still work, I do Monday, Wednesday and Friday, that's for work and dialysis.

I re-started dialysis in 2007, when my transplant failed, it worked for very nearly 17 years.

Hello

I have been on dialysis for 21 years continuously (I'm a 55 year old Man) and have maintained a reasonably normal life throughout. If I can help you with anything please ask.

Colin

Hello

I had my parathyroid glands removed approx. 6 years ago when they became over active, this is relatively common in long term dialysis patients.

Hi, yup I've been on heamo dialysis for just over 25 years. I've still managed to live in 3 countries since starting and also run my business full time. I'm 43. Any questions feel free to ask.

Cheers, James

Hi.

Was wondering if any other long-term dialysis patients suffer from fatigue?

Some days I can hardly get out of bed, and yet, reading these posts, some people seem to have a normal life.

What is your Heamoglobine level?

What EPO do you incject?

in reply tominimaggot

Yes, much seems to depend on my Hb.. I managed a whole day out, kite flying, and then shopping in the afternoon later with a mate. (A whole day for me is RARE, usually I'm knackered after lunch)

And I woke up the next day feeling fairly OK.. That's rare, but my Hb is at 12 on last blood results. And I feel more focused.

I am a 55 year old male and have been on Dialysis nearly 6 years and do experience extreme fatigue which is extremely frustrating when you hear of others being able to carry on life just about normal when on H/ dialysis
