I generally calibrate my Glucometer (Accu Chec..) every 3 months with Path Lab Blood testings. My Glucometer generally shows 3% + higher. According to my doctor Glucometer results are acceptable.

The readings may not be absolutely correct but they will be within range. They are useful to keep track of your sugar levels but for prescribing medication,it is safer to depend on lab reports.

The Glucometer testing for fasting is the best as it can be done at home early in the morning by one's ownself. I really realize on this. So for, PP is considered, here it will be much in order to get it done in Lab.

Whether it is machines at home or at lab the results are only indicators but not accurate. If you take test at same Lab within short span there would be difference which they call 'margin of clinical error'. But testing at Lab occasionally but not regularly is advisable. Please remember Diabetes is the only ailment that ensures service to the society by taking medicines, visiting Doctors and Labs
