At least in my experience, I have not come across examples where diabetes control has been effective. At one time or the other, such persons have switched over to allopathic medicines. But in this system, medicines mask the problem and in the long run, gradually body organs get damaged needing various kinds of treatments, surgery and things of that sort. In order to prevent all these things I can share what I have found is the best. Go for nutritional supplements. Guidance by a well versed individual (I do not say doctor, because these supplements not being a medicine can be advised by other than a doctor too) Further, there are few doctors (allopathic) having realized and studied "Nutrition Supplements" are engaged in advising those who consult them. Here, my information is that specialists such as ENT, Neurologists, Orthopedics are all there. I am not a qualified doctor, but am fortunate to have received valuable guidance from one accomplished qualified doctor. Providing contact numbers etc. is construed as business proposition etc. Therefore, I refrain from it. Find out one for yourself near yourself. But, be sure you get professional guidance and don't fall for the business greed of the person who you consult.
