Oat is a plant. People use the seed (oat), leaves and stem (oat straw), and bran (the outer layer of whole oats) to make medicine.

Oat bran and whole oats are used for high blood pressure; high cholesterol; diabetes; and digestion problems including irritable bowel syndrome (IBS), diverticulosis, inflammatory bowel disease (IBD), diarrhea, and constipation. They are also used for preventing heart disease, gallstones, colon cancer, and stomach cancer.

Oats are most commonly used to lower cholesterol and reduce the risk of heart disease.

Why go back to pre- agriculture days?Looking back,I wonder how we used to live 70 years back.No electricity,no antibiotics, rampant cholera and plague, coal gas fired buses etc etc.And Britishers were there.Things change. Only we do not know whether it is for the good or bad.

This is modern living, 21stC. In 20thC, what was there for breakfast when I was growing up, living with paraffin lamp for light!!

Left over rice, boiled potatoes or sweet potatoes or chick peas!

All South Indian breakfast items came later on as the equipment became available to make the breakfast items. My grandmother made what she could, there were no weighing scale at home!

Today we have technology, but the poor do not have access to technology to check?
