Both my parents are diabetic. My FBS is 97 and ppbs is 92. Is it normal. I walk for 3 kms everyday. Is it good enough to maintain levels.

Your blood sugar levels (both FBS & PPBS) are normal. Care should be taken not to exceed FBS >100 mg/dL and PPBS >140 mg/dL.

An interesting study was conducted recently on rats.After they were made diabetic they were fed on diet of low carb and high fat.Fat constituted upto 60%.After a few months all the rats developed symptoms of insulin resistance,skin problems and CHD.Then researchers increased the %of fat to 80.result was amazing.All the above mentioned symptoms disappeared very quickly.
That research was on rats who are genetically very close to human beings.They said further work is required to see if same can be applicable to human diabetics.
