Generally speaking,if you are above 7,you are in unsafe zone.6.5 is acceptable. but you should aim for 6 to be on safe side.No doubt doctors allow some lee way for old age,but why take chances?

yu can still bring down yur a1c by diet .yu start monitoring yur blood suar daily and see that it should be around 160-170 at any given time in a day OTHER THAN fasting reading which should be arond 100-110. this yu can achive by taking PORTION MEAL. YU DIVIDE YUR PRESENT INTAKE OF FOOD INTO 5-6 TIMES .YU TAKE SMALLER QUANTITY EACH TIME YU TAKE AND CHCK UP YUR BLOOD SUGAR and see that it arond 160-170 there by getting down yur aic arond 7
