It is wrong on your your part to address to put a question a particular person in a general platform. If you want to get clarification on a particular point /subject from a person, write a personal communication to him. I don't want to belittle others.

Diabetes mellitus elevates blood cholesterol, i.e., elevates LDL cholesterol (bad cholesterol) and triglycerides and lowers HDL cholesterol (good cholesterol). This causes atherosclerosis of the arteries. Atherosclerosis is a condition in which patchy deposits of fatty material (atheromas or atherosclerotic plaques) develop in the walls of medium-sized and large arteries, leading to reduced or blocked blood flow. To prevent atherosclerosis, people need to stop using tobacco, improve their diet, exercise regularly, and maintain control of their blood pressure, cholesterol level, and diabetes. Atherosclerosis also leads to hypertension (high blood pressure).

Heart: Atherosclerosis of the coronary arteries causes heart attack (myocardial infarction). High blood pressure means the pressure inside the blood vessels (called arteries) is too high. As the heart pumps against this pressure, it must work harder. Over time, this causes the heart muscle to thicken.

Brain: Athrosclerosis of carotid arteries causes brain attack (stroke). The carotid arteries provide the main blood supply to the brain. They are located on each side of your neck. Carotid artery disease is a condition in which the carotid arteries become narrowed or blocked. When the arteries become narrowed, the condition is called carotid stenosis.

Kidney: Atherosclerosis of renal arteries causes renal stenosis, the narrowing of the renal artery. This narrowing of the renal artery can impede blood flow to the target kidney. Hypertension and atrophy of the affected kidney may result from renal artery stenosis, ultimately leading to renal failure if not treated.

Each kidney is made of hundreds of thousands of small units called nephrons. These structures filter your blood and help remove waste from your body. In people with diabetes, the nephrons thicken and slowly become scarred over time. The kidneys begin to leak and protein (albumin) passes into the urine. This damage can happen years before any symptoms begin. The exact cause is unknown. However, kidney damage is more likely if there is poor control of diabetes and high blood pressure.

Retina:Diabetes can harm your eyes. It can damage the small blood vessels in your retina, the back part of your eye. This is called diabetic retinopathy. Diabetic retinopathy, is retinopathy (damage to the retina) caused by complications of diabetes, which can eventually lead to blindness. It is an ocular manifestation of diabetes, a systemic disease, which affects up to 80 percent of all patients who have had diabetes for 10 years or more. Despite these intimidating statistics, research indicates that at least 90% of these new cases could be reduced if there was proper and vigilant treatment and monitoring of the eyes. The longer a person has diabetes, the higher his or her chances of developing diabetic retinopathy.

Diabetes also increases your risk of having glaucoma, cataracts, age-related macular degeneration, renal detachment, and other eye problems.

Please also see my blog on eyesight. Please excuse me for writing a lengthy answer.
