Somebody plz tell me. Has hormone imbalance anything to do with diabetes
Diabtes has every thing to do with a harmone called insulin ,produced by a gland called pancreas located just below the stomach.When we eat carbohydrates,it is converted to glucose and stored in the liver. Whenever there is a fall in glucose level in the blood,the liver releases glucose into the blood stream to be carried to the body cells all over the body.The cells receive the glucose from the blood stream and converts into energy used for various functions of the body.Problem comes while the glucose enters the cells because we need insulin to open the cells so that glucose can enter.It is like insulin holds the key to all the cells.No insulin means the cells cannot open,no glucose,no energy.Glucose levels in the blood increase to high levels resulting in diabetes.There is also another problem where in the body develops insulin resistance because of which the body cannot utilize the insulin though available with the same result,diabetes.
