My 9 year old granddaughter has had Type 1 diabetes for three years now and she is being encouraged by her Diabetes Team to begin using the Omnipod system. She, and her parents are nervous because last year she tried the ‘loop’ system, which failed within hours and so began a dramatic 24 hours. Has anyone any opinions, suggestions or advice please ?

Annie.

Sorry haven't had any replies before now. I was just looking through of the later posts on this forum. I have a friend that uses omnipod and loves it. I am type 1 and have had the t slim closed loop system. When I first had closely it takes you a good week to have the algorithms work for you. Don't give up straight away cuz it does take a little while. I hope your granddaughter has had good luck with it ❤️

Thanks so much for that. I think her parents are happier with this one, but I will pass on your comments and I’m sure they will be reassured. Thank you again.

Oh that's good... The sensors are way better today than 8 years ago when I had my first one!
