Just started here, on other forums. I've been trying hard to manage my health problems, just seem to hit road blocks. I'm a sweet tooth, recently gave up lollies and chocolate, since Feb, but when gp did the long range sugar test, it was worse than before. So another tablet added, I was on Metformin 1000 mg twice a day, Trulicity injection once a week, Glyxambi 25/5 mg, now Glimepiride 2 mg added at lunch. I have a feeling that Trulicity is nearing end of usefulness, seem to need change in injections every so often. I eat well, lots of fresh veg, as I have a heart condition from being a diabetic, type 2. Any suggestions would be welcome. On 23 tablets a day to manage health. Moni

Frustration with medication
Hello MONIREN as a fellow diabetic I am afraid I don’t have the answers. I would just really try to keep your cholesterol, HBA1c blood sugar well managed and good blood pressure. Take your meds and eat healthily as you are doing and if possible get some exercise. Take good care, Judi
Thank you for your reply. I do keep my cholesterol under 3, and I am losing weight, the gp doesn't have answers either. Won't give up trying. Take care. Moni
Dont give up! I can totally relate your frustration but it's a slow progress. For T2 the hospital just recommended diet and exercise.. some take tablets, some take insulin and some take both.
It can get quite a bit critical when I see the diabetes nurse as all falls onto " loose weight" like I can do it over night. I didnt even have weight issues until I started insulin and tablets for other conditions. You can eat healthy and the health professionals look at you as if you live on big macs.
Before lockdown I lost 5 stone. Wasnt good enough to come off insulin. Many years of struggling with all sorts I'm now battling cirrhosis of the liver.
Never give up! Even on your worst day still try to get up, change into clothes and try keep up appearances because low mood and depression can start to take over.
Your doing great though! Keep at it. Any questions dont hesitate to ask!
Thank you! I have kept trying, I think the injection Trulicity is not working as well. They only last a year, then you have to start again. Just trying to convince gp. Hope you hang in there. Big challenge ahead for you. Take care. Moni
