Tired.

I have been diabetic for 8 years. Was on many medications, Metformin, Glipizide, and others. ALL have made me tired and sleepy all day. I do much better without them and just watching what I eat. I hear Poppy seeds are good, any comments?

A medical practitioner would be the best one to recommend on your medication.

Other options are:

1) Okra juice - Soak sliced okra in water overnight. Drink the water (slimy stuff) next morning

2) Fenugreek seed water - Soak fenugreek seeds seeds in water overnight and drink the water the next day

3) Bitter gourd in your diet.

The three options mentioned above are NOT substitutes for your medication but they help in increasing your insulin levels in your body.

Diet and exercise are mandatory.

Your doctor would recommend a change only if he sees a good results.
