Molar incisor hypomineralisation, does anyone have experience of this condition?

My eldest son (aged 7) has been disgnosed with molar incisor hypomineralisation (mih) and is awaiting treatment with a peadiatric dentist, he has noticeable marks on his adult incisors and on all first adult molars, with post eruptive break down on his upper molars. The dental plan is that he will get two large asthetic fillings to replace those plus additional work and then later cosmetic work for the incisors.

The dentist has also noticed signs on my second child's milk molars making it highly probable that he will also have the conditon. Not to mentioned how it will look for my third son.

While its clear this is going to cost us financially i am not so clear on how this will effect my children emotionally and over the long term, it is most likely that by his/their teens their teeth will be crowned and would have undergone many restorative treatments. Because it is a relatively new condition apart from studies online, which often have questionable reliability, i am not able to find any forums covering the topic, with discussion on how it is for the kids with this condition. Me being the parent has of course a very different perception. I would interested in hearing from anyone who can chat long term prognosis or know of young adults who have been through treatment for mih since childhood.

Best wishes and look forward to connecting with you.
