I have a bi-CROS hearing aid due to me losing hearing in my right ear in an unaidable way - now I am finding that I am having issues understanding speech in my good ear - which is quite scary - and all the audiologist has been able to do today is turn up my hearing aid (I can't - it has no volume control) and ask for a review - which will probably take ages! What can I do in the mean time? I am finding my white noise tinnitus is now overwhelming my hearing aid - increasingly not understanding what people say to me unless they talk very loudly and clearly and have no idea what I can do to preserve the hearing I still have as no one can give me a diagnosis of what's happening except that it's sensioneural and I have cochlear damage - so no bone anchored aids will help. Am I destined to become almost totally deaf? I am in my early 50's!
